Introduction

When people think of a baseball roadtrip, they usually imagine someone hopping from one major league baseball stadium to the next, attending as many games as possible.  To a large extent, that's true.  Visiting stadiums and watching games is an integral part of any baseball-themed trip.  However, baseball is more than a game... or even a series of games.  It's embedded in the culture, history, and identity of large cities and small communities throughout the country.  From one-room museums that remember local heroes, to laid-back minor league parks or the preserved remains of long-gone stadiums, America's pastime is everywhere.

So despite the name of this blog, it isn't so much about where you can find baseball as it is about where ELSE you can find it.  It's about the stories behind the statistics.  It's a journey through the heart of a country and its favorite game.
